Donations gladly accepted
Salem Classical Fencing was created in late 2003 to promote and
support fencing in the Salem area for anyone interested in learning. We
are a tax-exempt
non-profit organization incorporated in Oregon and recognized by the IRS
as a 501(c)(3) organization (for your reference, our federal tax ID # is 20-0530064). We are
registered with the Oregon Department of Justice's Charitable Activities
Section. Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of
the law.
Among other things, we
teach fencing through low-cost group classes at our studio, organize
fencing tournaments, put on fencing demonstrations for
schools and other local organizations, and support other Salem-area fencing groups, including four high school fencing programs.
All
classes are taught by skilled instructors who teach out
of a passion for the art and science of fencing. Our staff is paid a modest wage for teaching classes, but volunteer
much of their time. We also depend heavily on volunteers to keep the studio running.
Your donation helps us cover our operating expenses, purchase new
equipment, and provide dues and equipment subsidies to financially needy students.
If you wish to earmark your donation for a donation for a specific
purpose (e.g. scholarship fund or Salem High School Fencing League), please indicate your wishes in the comments section or on the
memo line of your check.
Thank you!
