Course Catalog

Learn-To-Fence Classes

  • Fencing 010, 011, 012, and 013 -- Musketeers (age 8-11)
    Classes ongoing -- start today!
  • Fencing 110 -- Introduction to Fencing I
    Begins the first week of odd-numbered months
  • Fencing 110DC -- Day Camp
    Next camp is during spring break 2007 (age 12 and up).
  • Fencing 111 -- Introduction to Fencing II
    Pre-requisite: 110 or 110DC (or equivalent)
    Begins the first week of odd-numbered months
  • Fencing 112 -- Introduction to Fencing III
    Pre-requisite: 111 (or equivalent)
    Begins the first week of odd-numbered months

Skill-Building Classes

All skills classes are ongoing, so students may start these classes any time. The same skills class may be taken more that once per week -- students simply pay twice, and get twice as much instruction.

  • Fencing 115 -- Basic Foil Skills*
    Gateway class for all subsequent classes in all weapons
    Pre-requisite: 112 Introduction to Fencing III (or equivalent)
  • Fencing 125 -- Basic Epee Skills*
    Pre-requisite: 120 Introduction to Epee
  • Fencing 135 -- Basic Sabre Skills*
    Pre-requisite: 130 Introduction to Sabre

* These classes teach a particular skill-set. In order for students to progress beyond these classes, they must successfully "challenge" the class to demonstrate basic mastery of the skills being taught. Each challenge attempt costs $10.

Introductory Epee and Sabre Classes

  • Fencing 120 -- Introduction to Epee
    Pre-requisite: 115 Basic Foil Skills

  • Fencing 130 -- Introduction to Sabre
    Pre-requisite: 115 Basic Foil Skills

Intermediate and Advanced Instruction

  • Fencing 210 -- Intermediate Foil Skills and Tactics
    Pre-requisite: 115 Basic Foil Skills
  • Weekly private lessons (any weapon)
    $59/month for weekly lessons w/ Mr. Heggen. Pre-requisite: Basic Foil Skills challenge.
