Details
|
The individual foil event will
consist of one to three rounds of pools (depending on the number of fencers). There will be no direct elimination. This means
that everyone will get to do plenty of fencing, and no one will be
eliminated.
The team foil event will be
contested using either a complete round-robin or a bracket with all
fences placed for (depending on the number of teams).
This tournament will be using the rules
(PDF file) of the American
Fencing League, except that the bib of the mask will be considered off-target. |
It is very important that you be on time! We will
have many bouts to fence.
Although this is a tournament, and it should be fenced
competitively, remember that fencing is a sport of honor, respect, and
sportsmanship. No matter how well (or poorly) you do, remember that only a few
weeks or month ago, none
of you could fence. The mere fact that you can fence at all is an
achievement in and of itself.
Rather than a test of you against another fencer, let
this competition be a test of you against yourself.
Simply strive to do your best. And have fun!
