Open to Prep and Novice foil fencers
(Prep-level fencers are those who have been competing for less than one fencing season 
and who have not won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in an individual foil event) 

The 1st-place finisher in the individual foil event received 
a Junior classification (making him ineligible for future Prep and Novice events).
